James’ move from residential services to supported living goes swimmingly

Posted: Monday, 22 June, 2015

We’re marking a major milestone as James makes a fantastic transition from living at our Pennine View -– a residential services home to Belvedere - our modern supported living bungalow in Darfield, part of the West Riding of Yorkshire.

James has settled in very quickly at Belvedere - a three bedroomed bungalow set in a quiet cul-de-sac in the heart of the community which is just a ten-minute drive from Barnsley and close to Sheffield. On a local bus route, the bungalow is also ideally situated for accessing Doctors, Dentists and all other professional services.

Always on the go, James is an energetic young man who relishes wide ranging activities,    requires continuous motivation and praise and who constantly asks questions about what his day ahead will entail.

Ensuring continuity, some of our dedicated staff have moved with James from Pennine View to Belvedere where a wealth of local amenities include  Dearne Valley College, libraries, leisure centres, horse-riding stables and country parks – with the Peak District National Park being just a thirty-minute drive away.

James and our team are delighted with the smooth transition giving James a greater degree of independence.  His success story is aligned with our ethos to constantly strive to provide homes with a relaxed atmosphere that promotes individuality, giving each service user the right to dignity, choice, privacy and independence.
